Edirlei Soares de Lima

Ph.D. in Computer Science

I am a Lecturer and Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Games at Breda University of Applied Sciences. My research focuses on developing computational methods for interactive narratives in games and digital entertainment, with particular emphasis on AI-powered narrative generation, procedural content creation, and adaptive storytelling systems.

My work explores how artificial intelligence can generate, adapt, and structure interactive narratives, combining techniques from automated planning, machine learning, evolutionary algorithms, and narrative theory with contemporary generative AI methods.

Throughout my research, I have developed new approaches to generation, interaction, and representation of interactive narratives in contexts ranging from games to interactive cinema, exploring multiple domains of computer science and artificial intelligence to advance the field of computational storytelling.
